Mr. Coffee K-Cup Brewer

Have you noticed how many coffee makers are joining the ranks and producing K-cups? It seems like everyone of them has a K-cup presence.

But there is also another development… the single serve coffee makers, themselves, are being made by others. Cuisinart has a K-cup brewer, released last year with a list price of $199.

Now, Mr. Coffee is producing a K-cup brewer. And guess what? In typical Mr. Coffee fashion, it is the cheapest (oops, make that less expensive) K-cup brewer anywhere.

To be more politically correct, it should be said the the Mr. Coffee K-cup machine is for the more cost conscious consumer (how’s that?).

How much for a Mr. Coffee K-cup brewer?

(Keep in mind that a Keurig Mini Brewer runs around $98.)

  • Bed Bath and Beyond – $79.99
  • Target – $82.99
  • Amazon – $55.99 (hey, that’s not a typo – it’s really cheap)

Now, with cheap, you also get a couple of limitations.

  • First, there is only one cup size.
  • Second, you must add water for each cup you brew, and 8 oz. is the limit.
  • Of course, you must be aware that the per-cup cost for your coffee will be more than with a regular multi-cup coffee brewer, but the value comes for those who only drink a cup at a time. And you have the added benefit of knowing that the quality of your coffee will be exceptional and consistent.

For my tastes, I enjoy being able to choose between different brews and not have to throw away unconsumed coffee.

By the way, I just purchased this Mr. Coffee K-cup brewer because my original Keurig was toasted (literally) during a lightning strike.

Why didn’t I just replace the Keurig? Simple, I am cheap.. uh, make that “cost conscious.”

I will keep you posted. But in the meantime, you go online at Amazon where you can get your own Mr. Coffee K-cup brewer.
