My family is pretty much just like most other normal American families. We enjoy our kids, work hard and try to enjoy our time off with family and friends. We’ve always enjoyed a great cup of coffee in the morning and maybe even after dinner. For years we did what everyone else did, buy ground coffee brands, dump the grounds in a filter, stick it in the brewer and wait for 8 cups or so to pour through. Then we started buying whole beans, which required the purchase of a grinder. Fun for a while, but messy.

Then one evening my wife and I were at a friend’s house for dinner and they offered us a cup. When asked what I preferred I just indicated that I would have whatever everyone else wanted. Our friend opened the cupboard and showed us a variety of small cups, each packed with enough coffee for a single cup… dark roasts, breakfast blends, you name it. She then pointed to the corner of the kitchen and introduced us to the single cup coffee maker. I subsequently learned that this was a Keurig model. One of several made by folks that invented what is called the “K Cup” system.

The next morning when we started the process of brewing another pot of coffee the inevitable conversation started about what we had discovered the night before. We both loved coffee. We didn’t always agree on what variety we wanted on a given morning. We didn’t always drink the whole pot. And we were both a bit sick of the mess and hassle involved in brewing a pot of coffee (yeah… we can be a little lazy in the morning… first one out of bed makes the coffee). So I cracked open the laptop and started doing some research on single cup coffee makers. I assure you, I take my time when looking at products. After a day or two of looking and debating I settled on a few brands. You can see the options I considered below. These are all very good options and took considerable time (and more than a few eye rolls from my bride) for me to sort through the options. I eventually ordered the Keurig B70 single cup coffee maker. Feature for feature the best single cup coffee maker I could find.

Check out the models I had to choose from:

Seen the news? Coffee has antioxidants! Antioxidants are already studied to a great extent. The research shows that antioxidants could delay growing older as well as guard our bodies against the introduction of age-related medical conditions.

If you study any medical articles that correspond with these studies and you are not inside the field of medicine, most likely you’re going to get lost inside the details. This is how a problem in believing that certain foods containing antioxidants are healthy for you starts.

A really interesting study was conducted concerning coffee beans and the antioxidant rewards that could be obtained when consumed.

The article was really long and had a lot of medical words and references in it. What the outcome proved was that although antioxidants did appear to be in coffee, when the beans have been heated up and processed, the benefits that may be received when drinking it are lessened. Having said that, for people who enjoy that breakfast cup of coffee and will drink it regardless of the benefits here are some kroger grocery store coupons to buy all of your favored coffee brands.

This is easier to fully grasp when you can think about the way the testing was accomplished.

Using lab rats to examine the effects of the antioxidants in coffee is unreliable. Especially when the coffee had not been simply ground up and processed in the normal human fashion where we place the grounds into a coffee pot and run scorching water over it producing a pot of hot fluid which happens to be coffee.

The testing within the labs involved breaking down the actual coffee bean into different parts. For example, the skin was removed from the coffee bean and examined as to the number of antioxidants it contained.

So why might they do this you could ask?

Well, the skin is where the highest number of antioxidants is found. However, we have to inquire the question, “Exactly who drinks only the skin of the coffee bean?”

One other issue with thinking any positive effects meant that coffee is useful for us is the fact after coffee is made, it looses a lot of the antioxidants through the heating process.

After examining coffee in various forms and splitting it up into several different parts, at the very end of an enormously long examination of scientifically demanding terms and data, it became clear that the laboratory test did not in fact demonstrate coffee to obtain any antioxidant benefits when ingested as a hot stimulative drink.

In actual fact at the conclusion of this article tha harsh truth was that there was clearly no facts in anyway that coffee is healthy for us because of any substantive degree of antioxidants after the brewing process.

So, the bottom line here is…

Rumors can start quickly and be regarded as fact if we do not perform our own research.

If you are interested in researching additional informative and beneficial articles on eating healthy along with suggestions to do so frugally through the use of kroger coupons then check out freekrogercoupons.wordpress.com

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters acquired Diedrich Coffee Inc. in March after several months investigation by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The federal regulators scrutinized the impact that the sale of Diedrich Coffee would have on the single serve coffee for Keurig coffee machines .

Green Mountain purchased Keurig Inc in 2006 and has been working to consolidate production and Keurig K-Cup sales ever since. Tully’s Coffee Corp. wholesale division was bought early in 2009, followed by Timothy’s Coffees of the World Inc. in November of 2009. Shortly thereafter, in December, the deal for Diedrich Coffee Inc was agreed upon. Green Mountain successfully shut out the attempts of Peets Coffee to purchase Diedrich.

The size of the Diedrich purchase triggered an automatic federal review under the Hart-Scott Antitrust Improvement Act of 1976.

The Diedrich Coffee buyout constituted the largest acquisition of a licensee by Green Mountain, whose earlier transactions had apparently not been large enough to trigger a Hart-Scott-Rodino filing. The review by the FTC was quite extensive, spurred on by political pressure by some of Green Mountain competitors.

Keurig coffee makers and K-Cups are successfully changing the manner in which people are brewing coffee. There have been single cup brewers before the Keurig but none of them have drastically changed the coffee market like the Keurig brewer has. Many in the coffee industry see the growth of the K-Cup market as a game changer for coffee roasters that have captured consumers with gourmet coffee beans for more than two decades.

Baby boomers’ parents drank percolated coffee

Any gourmet coffee connoisseur knows that a terrific cup of espresso originates from good quality espresso beans. Though there are numerous factors that contribute to quality, you will find three key areas of importance: country of origin, roast, and blend.

Coffee was first grown in the Arab world, but is now grown in more than 70 countries worldwide. Brazil is by and large the current world-leader in coffee production. Indonesia, Colombia and Vietnam are not much behind. The quality of the beans generally speaking continues to be to be of consistently high quality. By purchasing coffee beans from these countries, consumers reduce the risk of obtaining mediocre batches. Of course, exceptional coffee plants can be found in other places. It’s just good to keep in mind that the C. arabica plant is the most highly regarded. C. arabica plants thrive in high altitudes and lower temperatures. Lower altitudes produce the C. canephora plants which are of significantly lower quality. If you favour a specific blend of coffee make sure that you know where the beans are coming from.

The coffee we drink isn’t made out of raw coffee berries. If it were, it would taste quite unpleasant and bitter. Roasting the raw coffee berries brings out the flavour and becomes what we know as coffee beans. There are light, medium, and dark roasts. A light, or cinnamon roast, produces a somewhat delicate flavor. The term cinnamon is used to describe the light color of the roasted coffee bean, not the specific flavor. Medium roasts are maybe the most common. They are generally heartier and sweeter than light roasts. Many coffee grounds purchased at the local supermaket are in the medium roast family. Lastly, there are dark roasts. Dark roasted coffee possesses a noticeably strong and pungent flavor. It’s oftentimes consumed “black”, or without milk. The richly aromatic flavor of a dark roast makes it perfect for espressos.

Once the different roasts are understood, it can be easy to ascertain why coffee blends are getting to be quite popular. By mixing different beans, entirely new flavor combinations can be achieved. Some of the most common blends have names like “breakfast blend”, “espresso blend” and so on. The reality is that coffee blending options are truly endless. Considering that coffee is produced worldwide, and roasted many different ways, it’s safe to assume that you will find thousands of coffee blending choices. One just has to choose whether or not they have a preference for a commercial blend, like the ones sold by Starbucks, or a uniquely concocted regional blend. It’s important to understand that espresso drinks use darkly roasted beans. Make sure to check the packaging of any coffee blend to make certain only dark beans are used.

It may seem difficult attempting to locate the best espresso beans. It merely requires a basic understanding of the different locales and roasts, and the way the beans are blended. Add in a true appreciation for good coffee, and let the exciting search start. Of course, it all boils down to personal tastes and preferences. What one person could find unappealing could be your golden cup of joe.

Do you like your espresso coffee, but don’t like having to drive all the way to the coffee shop to order some? Wish you could make great tasting espresso at home? Now you can. Espresso makers have come a long way in recent years, these days it’s not necessary to be an expert to make a cup of great tasting espresso.

We all feel the same way about home made coffee. The taste isn’t always great and unless you have a great Espresso machine, you are always tempted to get a hot drink from a coffee shop on your way to work. There are some strict rules to brewing the best cup even with instant coffee. Here are a couple of tips that should help you prepare the best home coffee.

• Ideally, try and use filtered water rather than tap water as this can spoil the taste of good coffee.
• The temperature of the water is crucial when brewing coffee. Experts agree on 190 degrees Fahrenheit or 85 degrees Celsius. A high temperature ensures that all the flavour is extracted from the coffee.
• The quantity used should be an ounce or 30 grams of coffee to 20 ounces or 550 ml of water. Using less results in over extraction and a bitter taste. The flavour can be mellowed by adding more milk or hot water to the brewed coffee.
• Choosing the right grind; this should be coarse for a cafetiere, medium for drip filter and fine for expresso. The level of time the coffee should be in contact with the water also depends on the grind; the finer the grind the less contact time. So 15 seconds for expresso, 1-2 minutes for a drip coffee maker and five minutes in the cafetiere.
• Coffee used should be freshly roasted and ground immediately before brewing. As this is not always convenient, grounds should be kept in an airtight container so should be transferred straight away after opening . Make sure the grounds stay dry as this could take out the flavour
• Serve coffee immediately. Don’t allow it to hang about and do not keep it warm on the stove as again this will affect the flavour.

If you follow the above, then brewing the best tasting cup of coffee for that early morning lift will become a matter of course.

Probably the most crucial thing to a coffee delivery service proprietor is the capability to obtain a java drinker or even the buyer pleased. Those that are passionate java drinkers know the difference among the typical immediate java you possibly can grab at the mart along with the freshly roasted, totally delightful espresso that it is possible to get on the coffee suppliers.

The Kinds of Flavored coffee Drinkers

Capuccino drinkers variety in the passionate lover who craves for that finest and most exotic flavored coffee obtainable towards the casual drinkers who wouldn’t mind grabbing the leftovers off the supermarket shelves that might be there for a few months, with significantly of the tastes and aroma getting dissipated through the passing of time.

Kona Peaberry Java

For example one of the most exotic and precious espresso lying close to which is guaranteed to steal your attention and get you hooked is the delightful flavor of Kona Peaberry capuccino. You bet that when you get a flavor of this exotic espresso, you may never wish to revert back for your old instant espresso! The very best ting regarding the Kona Peaberry coffee is you do not need to fly to Hawaii to acquire your provide or wait for the wholesale to order in bulk, leave it to deteriorate prior to it reaches the local mart.

Office Capuccino Providers

Another espresso support that I like one of the most are office java services that few businesses produce. Everyone need to make an effort to have the office packages from their boss. They provide a totally free flavored coffee machine that caters Braun or Keurig immediate coffees and also month-wise you happen to be allowed for that regular, hazelnut or vanilla or some other gourmet flavors. You need to have to choose of whenever you call for the delivery and also the quantity of java. Bigger workplace would call for more quantity of coffee, but the workplace I’m with will usually have to have large volume of flavored coffee and of excellent choice. If that you are the sole boss then you will frequently need to have to do while using the bill, but within the other hand, generating you the only proprietor on the java. And as usual a business very good on providers also enables totally free shipping to standard buyers.

Are you someone who enjoys a nice cup of coffee? Perhaps it’s that cup that gets you going in the morning, or maybe you like to relax in the afternoon with a cup of gourmet coffee and a magazine. But have you ever considered how you actually make your coffee?

The vast majority of coffee drinkers make their coffee using the common filter-type coffeemaker. These coffeemakers are certainly the most popular; almost every coffee drinker has one, and you see them in almost every office snack room. But did you know there’s another way to make coffee? A way that leaves the natural oils intact, enhancing both the flavor and aroma?

I’m referring to about making coffee using a French Press. A French Press doesn’t use filters. It’s a glass beaker with a special top that has a metal screen attached to the end of a handle. The metal screen is circular and fits perfectly into the glass beaker. When you press the handle down, it pushes the screen through the container, pushing all the coffee grinds to the bottom. You’re left with a delicious cup of coffee that still has all the essential coffee oils.

With the standard paper filter coffeemaker, the paper filter actually ends up filtering out not only the grinds, but the natural oils found in the coffee beans. A French Press, because of its design, allows those oils to remain, enhancing the flavor and aroma of the coffee.

If you think you’d like to try a French Press, get coffee that is coarse ground as opposed to fine. You can purchase coarse ground coffee in any supermarket. Many supermarkets even have grinding stations where you can grind whole beans right on the spot. A home grinder is also very affordable and can be had for less than $20. If you’re a coffee aficionado, your own grinder and a membership in a gourmet coffee club can be a very powerful combination!

General guidelines for using a French Press to make your coffee is to use one slightly heaping tablespoon of ground coffee for each cup you want to make. After adding the grounds into the container, add very hot (but not quite boiling) water. Place the top on the French Press, but don’t press it down yet. Let it sit for around 5 minutes, then slowly push the handle down, pushing the metal screen through the water and moving the grinds to the bottom.

Now pour into your favorite mug, flavor to taste with cream and sugar or honey, and get ready to enjoy best-tasting, most delicious cup of coffee you’ll ever drink!

If getting started with a French Press sounds like something you want to do, you should consider membership in a gourmet coffee club. Many of them offer free gifts. One such club is Gevalia Kaffe. There are many Gevalia offers where you can get free coffee makers, travel mugs, carafes and more.
