Keurig Special Edition Brews Coffee Fast

If you have a Keurig Special Edition Coffee Brewer, it takes less than a minute to brew a large mug of coffee (if your Keurig B60 Single Serving Brewer is already on). If you have to turn on the brewer, it will still only take about three minutes.

OK, so let’s talk coffee. Why buy a Keurig Single Serve Coffee Maker when there are so many other products that do the same thing? How about this question: Which would you prefer, a Yugo (remember those tin boxes that were a sad excuse for an automobile) or a BMW?

Tully's 300X250

Same difference. A Keurig Special Edition Single Serve Coffee Maker is basically top of the line. It may not even cost as much as some of the competition, but the resulting brew and convenience is unsurpassed in quality (according to this reviewer).

What About Convenience Of a Keurig Special Edition Brewer?.

If you are a one or two mug a day consumer, this is the perfect brewer. Think about all the wasted or burned coffee that has gone unconsumed. Or, worse yet, if you leave your normal pot on the heat for more than an hour, the result is an unwanted, ill-tasting beverage.

Cleanup? It’s so easy. The only thing to clean is container you drink from. Another plus is the convenience of trying different blends on a daily basis. You may start off with your first mug of extra-bold and decide that you want the “donut house” blend a little later for your second go-round. With the Keurig Special Edition Coffee Maker… no problemo. And even better, you can switch to decaf later in the day – just one portion, of course.

Having a group of friends get together with different tastes? Again, this is an easy solution. K cups for the single serve coffee maker, as mentioned, come in all types of blends, but you can also get many different teas, and even hot chocolate. So you will impress your family and friends with their favorite beverage. No one will go unsatisfied. And no one has to settle for decaf when hi-test is their normal preference.

I am so impressed with my Keurig Special Edition Coffee Maker experience that I am spreading the word to all my friends, neighbors, and acquaintances. In fact, coffee is now my favorite topic of conversation, simply because I have some important information that will enhance their coffee-drinking experience.

Mr. Coffee – K cup Coffee Maker

Mr. Coffee K-cup Coffee Maker Saves The Day

Having had several Mr. Coffee drip makers in the past, of course I was familiar with the name. What I did not know is that there is a Mr. Coffee K-cup Coffee Maker.

Why did I need to know this? Simple. My Keurig single cup coffee maker experienced a power surge during a lightning storm. It is dead. Gone. Never to brew another wonderful cup of coffee.

Even though my first choice would be to get another nifty Keurig coffee maker from the folks at Green Mountain, I am under a budget crunch at the moment. Rather than paying $129, I paid a measly $55. It was not too difficult to get the other half of this husband-and-wife team to agree to the purchase. She knows how much I enjoy those flavor-rich cups of Tully’s Kona Blend or Donut People k-cups. She even likes the Donut Shop coffee on occasion.

So we are back in k-cup business at my house, using a Mr. Coffee k-cup coffee maker.

There are some things about this k-cup brewer that are different than the Keurig B-60 that I replaced. The most obvious thing is that it only brews one size. The reservoir is just 8oz and not a drop more. This works fine for me, because in my personal opinion, k-cups have the most flavor at that size, but there are those who want a larger dose, and the only way to get it with Mr. Coffee is to brew twice using the same k-cup. It works OK, although it takes an extra two minutes or so to add the extra brew.

I am totally happy with my Mr. Coffee k-cup coffee maker. I highly recommend it.

Drink Coffee – Does Oral Health Improve When You Drink Coffee?

The debate continues about whether it is healthy to drink coffee. While it is true that coffee will stain you teeth if you allow it to, there are some aspects of coffee drinking that have been proven to be beneficial to health. In this article about drinking coffee and oral health, we see another benefit… and yet another reason to strengthen our case for coffee drinking.

Link Between Coffee and Dental Care – Lower Your Oral Cancer Risk

By Jenny L McCoy

Studies have already shown that coffee may benefit dental care by reducing the risk of developing cavities. Now there’s even more good news for java junkies. Researchers have discovered that drinking a lot of coffee actually lowers your risk of mouth and throat cancer.

According to the findings featured in WebMD, people who drink more than four servings of coffee daily have nearly a 40% lower chance of contracting mouth or throat cancer when compared to people who don’t drink coffee. For those who drank less than five cups of coffee daily, the level of protection fell to still significant 4% lower odds for contracting mouth and throat cancer for each cup of coffee consumed each day. Protection for oral and pharyngeal cancer was evident, but protection against cancer of the larynx was not.

Coffee’s protective effect was shown to remain intact even for drinkers and smokers, despite the fact that tobacco and alcohol consumption are linked to head and neck cancers. Additionally, the protection effect didn’t demonstrate a boost by consuming fruits and vegetables, which are also known to protect against head and neck cancers.

The researchers at the University of Milan reached these findings when they analyzed nine studies comparing 5,139 people with head and neck cancer to 9,028 people without cancer.

So, which ingredient in coffee is responsible for reducing the risk of oral cancer? The study dismissed caffeine as a likely possibility since drinking tea, even in mass quantities, was not protective.

The researchers pointed out that coffee contains hundreds of chemicals. Of those, cafestol and kahweol have anti-cancer properties. However, future studies will have to determine more decidedly if these chemicals actually protect against cancer in people.

Previous studies in Wired Magazine have credited Trigonelline, an alkaloid, in coffee as a cavity-fighting agent. While the ingredient is recognized for giving coffee its taste, it’s also proven to prevent craters from forming in teeth, averting the cavity-causing bacterium Streptococcus from attaching to teeth.

The American Dental Association reminds us that coffee alone cannot create optimal dental health. In fact, excess coffee can stain teeth. The ADA recommends traditional dental care that includes brushing twice daily, flossing each day, eating a balanced diet, and regularly visiting the dentist.

Mr. Coffee K-Cup Brewer

Have you noticed how many coffee makers are joining the ranks and producing K-cups? It seems like everyone of them has a K-cup presence.

But there is also another development… the single serve coffee makers, themselves, are being made by others. Cuisinart has a K-cup brewer, released last year with a list price of $199.

Now, Mr. Coffee is producing a K-cup brewer. And guess what? In typical Mr. Coffee fashion, it is the cheapest (oops, make that less expensive) K-cup brewer anywhere.

To be more politically correct, it should be said the the Mr. Coffee K-cup machine is for the more cost conscious consumer (how’s that?).

How much for a Mr. Coffee K-cup brewer?

(Keep in mind that a Keurig Mini Brewer runs around $98.)

  • Bed Bath and Beyond – $79.99
  • Target – $82.99
  • Amazon – $55.99 (hey, that’s not a typo – it’s really cheap)

Now, with cheap, you also get a couple of limitations.

  • First, there is only one cup size.
  • Second, you must add water for each cup you brew, and 8 oz. is the limit.
  • Of course, you must be aware that the per-cup cost for your coffee will be more than with a regular multi-cup coffee brewer, but the value comes for those who only drink a cup at a time. And you have the added benefit of knowing that the quality of your coffee will be exceptional and consistent.

For my tastes, I enjoy being able to choose between different brews and not have to throw away unconsumed coffee.

By the way, I just purchased this Mr. Coffee K-cup brewer because my original Keurig was toasted (literally) during a lightning strike.

Why didn’t I just replace the Keurig? Simple, I am cheap.. uh, make that “cost conscious.”

I will keep you posted. But in the meantime, you go online at Amazon where you can get your own Mr. Coffee K-cup brewer.

Drink Coffee. Do Good ~ Aprons

I personally love this website – Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee

Their motto, “Drink Coffee. Do Good,” is right to the point. They are putting their money where it makes the most difference. They support the small coffee growers of Rwanda by purchasing coffee beans and donating back to them in the form of useful coffee bikes.

You can see what I’m talking about by visiting their website: www.drinkcoffeedogood.com.

Did I mention that their coffee is excellent?

Another way they help out is to provide a stage for new musical artists. You can visit their coffee shop in Roswell, GA when you are in that neighborhood, and you never know who will be appearing, but the music is usually good and refreshing.

Single Serve Coffee Brewer – Senseo Does It Right

Senseo Does It Right

Doesn’t the aroma from a perfect coffee blend do something special to how you feel? I know it puts me in a relaxed mood. One of the most enjoyable things in life is to sit quietly with a cup of coffee and listen to a rain storm outside. There is something about that combination that calms the sole and eases the stress of your day. But would it be the same if the excess coffee was left at the thermal carafe to be drunk later. Coffee brew left on for hours may have that stale bitter taste that no one would want to drink.

Fortunately, Phillips has come up with the perfect single serve coffee brewer to solve the problem for all of us coffee lovers who know what a good cup of coffee tastes like. They have come up with a system similar to the way expresso is made. It is a process that forces water through a brew container and achieves great taste every time.

Senseo’s Coffee Maker Advantage

Philips has been known to be an innovator as well as a solution provider to common household dilemmas. The Senseo Coffee Maker simply topped everything else. So easy to use and operate. It puts other household coffee makers to shame. The process of making a cup of coffee couldn’t be easier. Just make sure there is water in the reservoir, slip a Senseo coffee pod into place and push the button. In the matter of a minute or so, you will be rewarded with another excellent cup of Joe. The process of applying low pressure to the Senseo coffee pod can form a frothy drink so it would be better to put extra cream and sugar at the mug first before the Senseo coffee maker pours the drink.

The Senseo coffee maker is paired with a specially packed single serve Senseo coffee pod that is already calculated to mix with the coffee makers water volume output for a perfect aromatic coffee blend. Another advantage is that there is no mess or cleanup, since ther is no grinding or measuring (and spilling). The Senseo coffee maker’s removable parts are all dishwasher safe so cleaning the machine won’t be much of a hassle.

Cost Advantages of Senseo’s Coffee Maker System

Senseo Single Serve Brewer

Senseo Single Serve Brewer

The Senseo coffee maker costs around $60 – $70, a price way lower than that of espresso machines (Senseo coffee maker is not an espresso coffee maker) but about $20 – $30 more compared to the ordinary coffee maker. But once you figure out how consistently good your coffee is. You will forget about the extra cost.

It has long been a standing complaint for coffee maker owners that getting the ratio for grounded beans to water volume is difficult to master which could lead into filling the pot and the coffee bean container to its full capacity. Filling the carafe full with coffee with only one or two people drinking would mean lots of coffee and money down the drain at the end of the day.

But with a Senseo single serve coffee maker, you have no waste. It could end up actually saving you money in the long run.
